The Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad launched its eighth annual fundraising and awareness campaign on Friday at McPhillips Station Casino.

Organizers anticipate more than 1,400 motorcycle enthusiasts will head out on the highway, Saturday, May 28,  in support of prostate cancer research and education.

The Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad has raised more than $1.2 million in the past seven years, with proceeds staying in Manitoba. Representatives from the Genomic Centre for Prostate Cancer Research and the Manitoba Prostate Cancer Support Group were presented with a cheque for $282,255, the proceeds from last year's ride.
