Nott Autocorp, Manitoba’s premier luxury used car dealer, is looking forward to celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2017 and customers are going to reap the benefits.
“We’ve started running weekly blowouts already,” Nott Autocorp President Trevor Nott says, “and from January through April, we are going to be selling all of our inventory at a one-time wholesale price. We are also going to be offering service specials.”
Nott reports that the ongoing celebration will culminate in the spring with a customer appreciation evening that will include a charity barbecue with funds raised going toward the Resource Assistance for Youth program — a non-profit street-level agency working with homeless youth up to the age of 29.
Nott Autocorp has come a long way since Trevor Nott first opened for business in January 2007 in north Winnipeg just off Lagimodiere at the Perimeter. This past year alone, the luxury dealer has been recognized as the new Metro Winnipeg Community Choice Awards program’s top luxury dealer, top import dealer and best service centre in Winnipeg. Nott Autocorp also received a Small Business Award as Manitoba’s top used car dealer.
Two years ago, Trevor Nott relocated to Nott Autocorp’s current location at the southeast corner of Waverley and McGillivray.
“We used to run out of space at 80 to 100 vehicles,” Nott says. “We can now carry more than 150. Overall, our sales are up about 20 per cent over the past two years since moving here.”
In the first store of its kind, the new facility is a combination pre-owned luxury vehicle store and art gallery. Nott has partnered with local art purveyor Jordan Miller to fill the walls with interesting local pieces — and Winnipeg’s Genuwine Cellars installed a bespoke wine cellar in the main showroom.
And last spring, Nott Autocorp opened its new service centre at Waverley and McGillivray location. The 10,000 square foot facility has eight service bays and one wash bay and is equipped with all the latest equipment, including up to the moment diagnostic software and a 3D alignment machine. While most dealers today provide free WiFi and coffee while customers wait for their vehicles, Nott has taken it a step further with massage chairs, ping pong and billiards, a basketball hoop and satellite TV on 25-foot screens.
“While our focus is on luxury brands, we deal with all makes and models,” Nott says. “We try to provide the best value for our growing customer base.
“We also do a lot of custom orders (led by Nott’s brother, Tom, the store’s custom order manager). If a customer can’t find what he wants here, we can go to our wholesale network and source the particular model.”
Nott strives to be at the forefront of the industry. To that end, he has been an enthusiastic supporter of electric vehicles, especially those built by Tesla Motors. “We have leased several new and used Teslas,” he notes. “They are always in excellent condition and there is really good demand. We have already taken orders for the upcoming Model 3.
“We also provide appraisals for all of Tesla’s trade-ins across Canada — which affords us exclusive access to some pristine one-owner luxury vehicles.”
Nott further reports that Nott Autocorp has a new sales manager in the person of Jaimie MacDougall.
“We promoted Jaimie in October,” Nott says. “Seven years ago, we hired Jaimie out of 529 Wellington where he provided top notch service running the bar. He has done an amazing job helping to build our client base.
“We prefer to hand-pick our staff from outside the automotive industry, train them in the business our way and then promote from within. I believe that our staff should be given the opportunity to grow with the company as we continue to grow.”
Murray customer wins Chevrolet Trax
Murray Chevrolet customer Blake Dilworth received an early Christmas present this year.
On Dec. 15, Dilworth came into the Waverley Auto Mall dealership for an oil change. While he was waiting, he decided to try General Motors’ Connect and Win contest and he won a fully-loaded 2017 TRAX AWD, valued up to $35,000, and one of 17 new GM vehicles available through the contest.
