Precision Toyota plans major expansion

BY Myron Love . Oct 06 03:00 am

Precision Toyota, Brandon’s Toyota dealer for the past 38 years, is embarking on a major expansion project. Dealer principal Ron Ball and his son, Scott (who is the store’s general manager), are planning to build a brand-new facility on the north side of their four-acre property that — at 28,000 square feet — will be almost three times larger than the current store.

“Business is good,” Scott Ball says. “We have a loyal client base. And what we are hearing from our customers is that it was time for an expansion.”

Scott reports that all areas of the dealership will be expanded. There will be room for more cars in the showroom, more service bays and a roomier customer lounge.

He adds that the new building will be more environmentally friendly. The new store will be lit with LED lighting. Recycled water will be used to wash cars. And, he says, solar power is being considered as an energy option.

Construction is expected to begin on the new building some time next year with a 12- to 16-month time frame for completion.

Chudd’s adds boats to lineup

The Chudd family, Gimli’s Chrysler dealer, has recently added MirroCraft aluminum boats and Montego Bay pontoon boats to the product mix at the Chudd’s Powersports store, which is a neighbour to the Chrysler store.

Chudd’s Powersports carries a range of Polaris, Arctic Cat and Suzuki products including motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, Side X Sides and marine engines.

“Since we already provide Suzuki engines for boats, adding MirroCraft and products seemed like a good fit,” Kevin Chudd says. “Sales of our marine craft have been going good. Gimli is a central hub for commercial and recreational fishing in Manitoba. Carrying MirroCraft boats helps to round out our product mix and add to our reputation as a destination store.”

Also new to Chudd’s Powersports is Polaris’ Timbersled motocross system that can easily convert dirk bikes into snowmobiles for year round use.

TradeRev partners with AFC

TradeRev, a dealer-to-dealer digital mobile auction app, is introducing a new promotion aimed at encouraging dealers to go digital in partnership with Automotive Finance Corporation (AFC).

“Access to fluid cash flow is an ongoing pain point in the automotive sales industry,” TradeRev CEO and co-founder Mark Endras notes. “To remedy this and encourage dealers to go digital, TradeRev and AFC have teamed up for this landmark promotion, which allows dealers to pay no AFC floorplan financing fees and zero per cent interest for 45 days on any vehicles bought and sold on TradeRev. With this partnership, dealers can experience the speed, convenience and power of TradeRev with the same confidence and value of AFC’s physical auction financing.”

The deal is in effect until Dec. 31.

TradeRev’s live, one-hour digital auctions help dealers sell and source inventory from their desktop, tablet or mobile phone faster and cheaper than a physical auction.

AFC, a business unit of KAR Auction Services, is one of the largest providers of independent dealer inventory financing in North America. KAR Inc holds a 50 per cent stake in TradeRev. When dealers use TradeRev, they have access to real-time bidding auctions that run the freshest franchise trades. AFC financing is fully integrated into the TradeRev app, so dealers can immediately begin the financing process as soon as auctions are won. With thousands of North American dealers using TradeRev, more than 500,000 dealer auctions have been launched through the mobile app, generating more than eight million dealer bids.
